Cory Albright
graduated from Macalester College in 1994, earning his B.A. summa cum
laude in sociology. In 2001, he received a J.D. with high honors, Order
of the Coif, from the University of Washington School of Law, where he
was Executive Notes & Comments Editor of the Washington Law Review.
Prior to joining the firm, Cory completed a two-year clerkship with the
Honorable John C. Coughenour, Senior United States District Judge for
the Western District of Washington.
Cory represents Indian Tribal and Nation governments in litigation arising from a variety of issues, including the implementation and enforcement of treaty fishing, shellfishing, hunting, and gathering rights; the exercise of regulatory and adjudicatory jurisdiction over non-members and on-reservation activities; state attempts to tax activities in Indian Country; and other jurisdictional disputes. Cory also advises Indian Tribal and Nation governments regarding the potential impacts of federal and state statutes, regulations, and policies on their activities.
