David Giampetroni graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in 1988. He earned his M.S. in Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin in 1993. In 2004, he received his J.D., Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif, from Indiana University School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Indiana Law Journal. Prior to joining Kanji & Katzen, Mr. Giampetroni served as clerk to the Honorable David F. Hamilton of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, now of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Giampetroni works in the firm's Ann Arbor office, where he represents Tribal clients on a wide variety of issues including: tribal-state class III gaming compact disputes and negotiations; other gaming-related disputes; tribal land claims; tribal court jurisdiction; and tribal election and employment matters. Mr. Giampetroni has extensive litigation experience at the trial and appellate levels in both federal and tribal courts, as well as in tribal administrative tribunals in matters of tribal membership.
